Shorebags

Sisters, entrepreneurs and founders: Nidhi and Manasi Sharma

Our family has been in the cotton canvas business for more than 20 years. So when our Dad decided to retire, we took over the business and created ShoreBags.

We know it matters how products are made, and understand there is sometimes a stigma behind purchasing products produced in developing countries due to a lack of oversight on labor practices. We've worked to create an ethical and healthy factory environment for all our workers. Clean air, protective gear and a zero-tolerance policy on child labor make our facility unique and something we can all be proud of.

Our eco-friendly bags are made from 100% heavy duty cotton canvas, which includes content from post-industrial waste-- they're meant to be used every day for every purpose, promoting the elimination of single-use plastic and its impact on our environment.

Having our own family factory gives us the ability to responsibly source raw materials and employ who we feel need to be empowered.

By supporting ShoreBags, you are supporting transparent and fair supply chains, responsible sourcing and ethical manufacturing practices.

We are 100% minority women-owned and we've built a business model that provides opportunities for women in impoverished communities and opposes unfair manufacturing practices of any kind.

Ginger Squared

Ginger Squared is a handmade business created from our Southern California home. Our namesake comes from our two ginger littles who are our inspiration every day. We started with hand stamped jewelry back in 2012 creating new mom necklaces and have grown to include engraved jewelry and now home decor pieces. We are looking for a simple and classic style in all of our pieces that can be added to any style of decor. Our favorite materials to work with are metals, leather, and different types of woods. Each piece is made to order, so has special meaning and a unique quality made just for you.

Black Angel Designs

Black Angel Designs started quite by accident, as I didn’t set out to be an artist. (In fact, I kind of giggle when I’m called that as I can’t draw a straight line.) But I do love to create and luckily, graphic design allows me to do that in my day job as a marketing director. So using those skills and a process I had previously learned, I figured I’d make a few kitchen signs to sell with our previous business at Chicago street fests. People seemed to like them, so I added a few more designs. Being in the greatest city on earth gave me more inspiration as I added new products based on the rich history, sports, and traditions of Chicago. Then came the sassy home decor. (I can’t cook so it's really the only way I could contribute in the kitchen.) We continue to add designs and products to put smiles on our customers' faces and provide creative gifts. This is truly a family business as all the coasters and signs are handmade by my husband, Graig, and I will help from our parents and our 3 children. We hope you enjoy our work as much as we enjoy making it for you. We appreciate your business & support! ~Cortney & Graig Kinzler

Crayon Rocks

Crayon Rocks were invented by me, a special education teacher who saw a need to help young children, especially those with developmental disabilities, grow and train their tripod grip muscles so that writing would be easy and art fun. The perfect rock fell into my hands while repotting a plant. It can only be gripped and used with those all important three fingers: thumb, first and second. "How cool is that!" were the cries of my students. And then we all agreed that the colors had to be rich, vibrant and easy to apply. Thus was born the USA made Kentucky soy wax crayons that are ALMOST an oil pastel. Beautiful color that goes on paper with easy broad strokes. Perfect for the threenagers and older youngsters in your life.
