Meet the Maker- Maryam of Daily Bread Craft Co

Today, I am excited to introduce you to the beautiful Maryam of Daily Bread Craft Co! Keep reading to learn more about her and her business.
1. What made you start your business?
Like a lot of creatives, the idea behind my shop was born during the pandemic shutdown of 2020. I was sending A LOT of decorative snail mail to my then boyfriend (now husband <3) while we were apart, and eventually got into digital illustration and sticker-making. It was an outlet that made me feel childlike and let me be creative at a time when my job felt anything but. Through it all, I discovered that there are two things I like to draw most: bread and biblical things! The goal has always been simple: to embrace an unabashed love of carbs, Christ, and care, even when all those things can feel a little scary sometimes! 2. How do you handle competition in your field/market?
Honestly, I don't! And that may sound silly, but my goal has never really been to compete with others in this space. Sure, it would be nice to be singled out as a business with all the must-have, go-to products. Who doesn't want to be everyone's favorite?! But just for my own peace of mind, I've decided that my personal motivation is to bring other people joy through the small, everyday tokens that make me happy too, not to cater to any trends out there. That's probably HORRIBLE business advice lol, but it IS good mental health advice. 3. What are 3 personal goals you have for the next year?

It's funny, I feel like I'm at a point in my life in which the goals I have now aren't just for me, but for the future kids my husband and I want to have soon. We're working to make sure we as individuals develop healthy habits so that we can lay a hospitable foundation for other tiny humans we hope to bring into this big, vast, confusing world! For me, that means going on a lot of friend dates to build up my relationships with women I'm starting to trust and want to grow with; deep-diving into the Bible's word on motherhood; and repairing my somewhat tumultuous relationship with exercise and movement!
4. What is your best selling item?

My best-selling item is definitely my "Rising Dough" sticker. It's an illustration of semi-covered dough sitting in a bowl with the words, "When we rest...we can rise'' around it. When I first made it, I was thinking about baking, and how much the process of it reminds me of God's character and desires for his people. I honestly never thought it would become so popular, but it makes me SO HAPPY to know that people really resonate with its messaging: we can't grow, we can't become, we can't excel if we don't take breaks! Resting is just as if not more important to productivity as hustling is.
